In two days, Chowder and I take off on our little adventure. As most of you know, we had been planning a month long trip across the US. That trip was derailed as my presence was demanded at work. We now only have a week to cram as much living in as possible to try to sustain us until next years vacation.
This trip was important for a couple of reasons. First, we both turned 40 this year. Thus, the title of the blog. I promised myself, that this was a new chapter in my life and I was going to do things outside of my comfort zone. This trip was really going to be out of my comfort zone! Second, our baby graduated high school this year. We are headed for the empty nest very quickly and wanted time to reconnect as just a couple. Now, don't think that we are headed for marital trouble or anything! As many of you have expressed in the past, we make others sick because we are still deeply in love. That month was just to start us off on a new path in a positive light.
So, with the month on the motorcycle scrapped for the moment, we decided to at least do a small journey. This is to be a very personal journey for each of us. We have some definite destinations in mind and then we are just going to go where we may with the rest of the time. If we see you along the way, say howdy. If we miss you along the way, we will try to catch you next time.
With T-2 days, I am washing clothes and wondering how they are all going to fit in the space that we have. I am packing enough for two people for five days in something the size of a backpack! This wouldn't be so bad but because we are going to be on the motorcycle, the clothes have to fit the criteria. This means no shorts, no flip flops, etc... Full clothing means more room taken up. I will let you know how that goes!
